Ron Jenkins is an American attorney (called in Virginia in 1993) in addition to being qualified as a barrister in England and (in 2007) as a lawyer in St Vincent and the Grenadines ( Eastern Caribbean). Prior to entering private practice, Ron served as a Judge Advocate and Captain in the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed at the 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath. As such Ron handled a broad range of civil matters, acted as prosecutor in court-martial, and advised commanders on matters of public international law, including the Geneva and Hague Conventions, the US – UK Status of Forces Agreement and the Strategic Arms Reduction treaties. Ron for a time worked in international commerce in the London office of Monitor Company, a Harvard- based international strategy consultancy, and was deployed on a number of board – level engagements with major multinationals. His achievements included designing a new tax-efficient product for the largest roadside assistance company in the UK, and securing the permission of the European Commission's Merger Task Force for the acquisition by Heineken of Diageo’s Spanish subsidiary and operations. Ron continues to enjoy business strategy and is able to contribute a sharp business mind to client engagements. Ron has developed a niche international law practice that is based in part on his special expertise in “offshore” matters, and that is both advisory and contentious. His practice includes cross–border transactional work, international tax planning and complex international litigation and dispute resolution. He has been instructed by a wide range of commercial and private clients, among them hedge and mutual funds, insurance companies, banks and private individuals victimized by offshore-based fraud. Ron has also had interesting engagements in the field of counterterrorism. He acted for the bankruptcy trustee of Pan American Airways, and for Lloyds, in their commercial claims against Libya and others arising from the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. He represented eight American families in a lawsuit against Libya, Syria and others for death and injury caused by the 1985 terrorist attack at the Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome, Italy. Ron is committed to teaching and speaking within his fields of expertise, within which he has had numerous engagements, notably on the impact on international investment of US tax, governance and counter-terrorism measures. In his free time, Ron studies the tango and enjoys sport shooting. Email:
