Before being called to the Bar, Laura had extensive experience in the areas of child protection and public family law matters as a paralegal for Lancashire County Council and extensive experience in a variety of civil matters as a freelance advocate.
Laura accepts instructions in all private and public family law matters and has undertaken a range of hearings in the Family Proceedings Court and County Court. She frequently appears in interim and final hearings involving care and supervision orders, section 8 orders, injunctions and matters of jurisdiction.
Laura has extensive experience also of representing defendants, the Prosecution and appellants before the Crown Court and Magistrates Court(including the Youth Court).
Laura accepts instructions on a variety of civil matters including landlord and tenant, personal injury, bankruptcy and contractual disputes. Laura is happy to provide written advice and draft pleadings.
Laura also frequently appears in Employment Tribunals throughout the country, conducting a range of preliminary and final hearings acting for both Claimants and Respondents in all areas of employment law including discrimination, wrongful and unfair dismissal, redundancy and TUPE. Laura regularly undertakes multi-day hearings and is always happy to advise in writing or in conference as required.
